"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life" Samuel Johnson

Even after steeping myself in the treasures of the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, Leighton House, Windsor Castle and Tate Britain - it is hard to remain tired when there are verdant green canopies, rolling blankets of soft green grass, birdsong and dappled late afternoon sunlight in London's Parks to nurture, restore and reenergise. How clever it was to have designed them so thoughtfully all those years ago, and how essential it still is to maintain these green oases in the centre of ole London Town - for the benefit of man and wildlife alike.
