Mulled wine, strudel and lashings of good cheer
The joys of being in the Northern hemisphere for Christmas - a cold change and the Christmas markets. Am feeling decidedly festive from the top of my bobble hat to the tips of my winter boots.
The largest Christmas market in Florence is located in Piazza Santa Croce and inspired by the traditions of the German city of Heidelberg, with wooden huts, live music and stalls selling Italian and German delicacies, decorations and handicrafts. One of the more popular stands sells mulled wine - with variations. The addition of a splash of Amaretto brings a little extra Christmas cheer. :)
