Homecoming

Wonderful to be back, embracing bright summer days, cottonwool clouds, a lazy Arno and peaceful olive groves. The familiar sounds of opening shutters, passing scooters, church bells and ambulance sirens (once heard - never forgotten). The warm golden tones of old buildings, the cool shade under high vine-clad loggia, walking upon worn flagstones and ancient steps, climbing green hills and through the Rose Garden to greet the green 'David' and savour a timeless view - the rich heritage of Florence is once again my creative resource, it's narrow streets my home.
